Kantech EntraPass and KT controller access control
Plan EntraPass editions, KT controllers, readers, credentials and door hardware from site scale, administration and integration requirements.

What Kantech includes—and how to choose
Kantech access control centers on EntraPass management software and KT controller families. Edition and architecture decisions depend on site count, workstations, gateways, integrations and administrative needs. A small single-site system and a distributed enterprise deployment should not receive the same software and communications design.
KT-1 and KT-400 controllers serve different opening counts and enclosure approaches. Controller selection must include reader technology, supervised inputs, lock outputs, request-to-exit, door position, power, battery and network or bus topology. Expansion modules and accessories are verified against the exact controller and EntraPass release.
Credential strategy can include cards, fobs and supported smart or mobile technologies depending on the reader path. Existing credentials and readers are inventoried before migration. Integrations to video, intrusion or visitor systems require a supported interface and an event-by-event operational definition.
Product families and their roles
This portfolio map separates the main Kantech functions so the project is not reduced to a generic model list.
EntraPass software
Access administration, events, schedules, reports and integration options by edition.
KT-1 controller
Compact IP door-control option for supported small and distributed openings.
KT-400 controller
Multi-door controller and expansion architecture for larger panels and sites.
Readers and credentials
Supported reader technologies, cards and identity workflows matched to the installed base.
Architecture decisions before procurement
The selected family must fit the opening, scene, network, power, software and administrative environment.
EntraPass edition
Match server, workstation, gateway and integration needs to the current edition.
Controller topology
Map doors, panels, communications, power, battery and expansion modules.
Opening hardware
Document lock, reader, REX, contact, fire interface and egress per door.
Migration plan
Inventory legacy controller, reader and credential compatibility before reuse.
Commissioning evidence
Acceptance should demonstrate the intended workflow under realistic conditions, not only show that devices appear online.
- Test every opening for granted, denied, forced, held and scheduled behavior.
- Exercise controller communications loss and verify local decisions and event recovery.
- Confirm administrator permissions, reports and supported integration events.
- Deliver door schedules, panel maps, software release, backups and credential records.
